About Us

Uniquely Smart is a story rooted in love and two parents' unwavering dedication. Founded by Ashok Kuppuswamy and Nandhini Srinivasan, our journey began with our daughter, Amrita – beautiful, lively, and uniquely smart. As parents navigating the complexities of raising a child with special needs, we gained firsthand understanding of the challenges and the immense joy that comes with it. We knew we wanted to give back to this extraordinary community of families and caregivers.
 

But we also felt something was missing. While existing therapies and medical interventions were essential, we envisioned a different approach, one that focused on building a foundation for life beyond clinical settings. We wanted to create a space that was tailored to the individual needs of each child, accessible, and affordable. Our vision was to develop a practical framework for teaching life skills, fostering independence, and creating pathways to meaningful participation in society.
 

More than just a program, we wanted to build a welcoming community where parents are actively involved. We believe that by engaging parents in social activities and skill-building exercises, we can deepen their understanding of their children and empower them to support their growth. Our approach is child-led and child-oriented, prioritizing their unique interests and abilities.
